Good Evening Friends,
Now that my apprentice has posted a quiz, and a good one I might add.
Here is one from me.

Though seldom used today there is a difference between a cross cut hand saw kerf than a ripping hand saw one.

Can you tell me what that difference is?

Respectfully, :)

Good Evening Friends,
Well it appears that my apprentice is faring better than I tonight.

Todays answer is as follows; rip saw's teeth are filed so that the bottom edge of the teeth are all on one plane perpendicular to the blade when set, thus cutting a flat bottom kerf. The cross cut's teeth are filed so that when viewed down the blade they form a v by the alternating of the teeth when set, and thus cut a w shape.

Respectfully, :)
