Just as well his thumbs are already shorter than his fingers otherwise they soon would be if his hand slipped.

Lignum 17th October 2009, 08:35 PM Great idea:2tsup: he should have raised the blade a few mm higher. (prolly was a reason but i didnt listen to the audio)
Wongo 17th October 2009, 10:39 PM Thats pretty cool.
Geoff Dean 17th October 2009, 10:56 PM Should I use the Rip blade, combination blade or fine cutoff blade when I try this tomorrow? :D
munruben 17th October 2009, 11:11 PM Great idea:2tsup: he should have raised the blade a few mm higher. (prolly was a reason but i didnt listen to the audio)I don't think he wanted to cut right through and spill the milk.:)
Lignum 17th October 2009, 11:11 PM Good question Geoff. For mine the combo would be perfect as it would be like a hot knife through butter. A rip blade way to course. Suppose the most important thing it to first drain the milk:)
Wongo 17th October 2009, 11:13 PM I would use a crosscut blade with 60 teeth. It gives a better finish.
Lignum 17th October 2009, 11:20 PM I would use a crosscut blade with 60 teeth. It gives a better finish.
But first use the Domino to cut the holes to drain the milk

Lignum 17th October 2009, 11:33 PM Funny how people couldn’t care less about holding a small motor with handle and 70mm of fast spinning exposed blade in their hand and plunge it into a slab of timber with “no” guide and think its cool… yet freak at someone pushing some wood/fibre over 4 or 5mm of exposed spinning blade.:?
Side note- does anyone here freehand cut on their table saw? i have for years. I know lots who do and didnt think it was an issue.

Expat 18th October 2009, 01:48 PM Sounds like a Pom to me!
orraloon 18th October 2009, 02:28 PM Well I did not say Oh f### but he is a card carrying eedjit.
However apart from the risk to digits it is a good way to open one. With a jig it could be done safely.

John
