Hi, am looking to get back into woodworking as a hobby and was wondering of anyone knows where I can find the salvage/recycle places in sydney. I've seen a few over the years in lifestyle shows that have old doors, bits of wood from demolition sites that require some cleanup. I don't mind cleaning them up (planing etc). How do they compare on prices with the hardware stores where the timber is already dressed? Is the variety better? And does anyone know where I can find them in Sydney/Sydney South West area? Either an actual name or what to look under in the yellow pages would be great.

Thanks, and apologies for so many questions all at once.

While you're in the area, you could also check out Reverse Garbage in Marrickville, and the other 2nd hand place in the same complex (maybe Danias - don't know the name).

Rev. Garb. sometimes have good bargains in veneers.

Good hunting.
