I'm setting my shop up and looking at the dust collection situation.
I only use solid timber and plywood, with bandsaw, planer, thicknesser, router, and radial arm saw.
I have read Bill Pentz research on the subject, and anything else that I can find.
The way I am thinking is to get a 2hp bag unit with needle felt bag, see how that goes by using something like a mirror or glass laying flat in the shop to determine how much dust settles.
If there is fallout, go to a cartrige filter on the bag unit.
What are the thoughts out there on this idea ?

I am keen on the Magno 2hp Dust Collector from Woodworking Machinery Specialists in Preston Vic. for $395 plus $55 for needle felt filter bag.
Does anyone have this unit?

After two days and no replies I guess the answer is "NO:"
:D :D :D

Personally, I'd skip the test with the glass....just get the filter from the start.

Cheers,
