Wood: Matai
Diam: 160 mm
45 mm
Finish: inside vessels lacquer, outside rust

This is the smallest of this multi axis series, which is only half the size of Toru 4. It is the same size as the one I did at Turn-Fest earlier this year but didn't get it to this stage.
I decided to coat the entire outer surface with the rust this time to give some contrast to the Matai. I think it works quite well with this piece. I started this piece in February and thought it was about time to finish it.

Hi Robbie
Great piece like the finish, this is something on my to do list more multi axis work but its a matter of time skill and nerve.

Awesome.

Looks like rusting iron on the outside.

That's beautiful, and the rust finish really sets it off...

Dunno about the name through - "Toru 5", I would have thought "Spinning propellor of doom" would have been more like it :o

That would have been very interesting to turn.

Cheers,
Dave

Stunning....you are very patient and brave to tackle multi axis turning of this size.

The result says it all :2tsup: :2tsup:

That is really nice.
Now I am thinking of ways to mount that for turning.
