I havent been on here for a while.

So I thought I may aswell give an update on some tools i recently purchased.

A couple of months ago, with the American Dollar being so good, I thought it was the perfect time to buy some new Handplanes I had been wanting/requiring.

So I lodged an order on the Woodcraft website, and this is what arrived for me:

Groz Engineers Squares in case:

But more importantly

Lie-Nielsen No.6 Fore Plane:

Lie-Nielsen No.4:

I wont say exactly how much they cost, but I all of the above for under $900 Australian...including postage...which saved myself about $500 :)

Unlike my Lie-Nielsen Bevel Edge Chisels which I havent used yet (:-) these work great and are a pleaser to use :)

Highly recommend them to anyone.

Rhys

Nice Gloat Rhys and these will keep you amused over Christmas .I recently shouted myself a LN 102/103 white bronze set of block planes along with a No 1 1/12 bench plane to compliment my other LN's.

There's no doubt that LN do make a quality tool as does Lee Valley with their Veritas range.

But I must warn you of the downward spiral on your pocket:rolleyes:however investing in good tools at a younger age shows good wisdom:D and they will be a good part of your w'working shop for ever!

Cheers:)

I am very happy with my purchase.

Although I dont use my woodworking tools everyday, these are more of an investment for next year and the years to come.

Nice purchase John Saxton, and yes the quality is great, and yes the hip pocket has depreciated a bit...but thats mainly due to the purchase of a newer vehicle as of late :)

Picked up a Stanley Spokeshave (No.51 I think?) today at the Lumber Bunker's Sale :)

As well as a few bits of USA Black Walnut...my favourite timber so far :)
