Can I take this opportunity to wish this fine group of turners all the best for Xmas and New Year.

It's been another year of productive interchanges and offline meetings and comradeship.

One of the things I value about the turning forum is the number of experienced members who have initiated useful threads or provided informed replies to questions.

In particular, thanks to Neil, the forum owner, and to , the mod with the gentle touch (except when it comes to bowls :D ).

Thanks too to those members who have hosted or are about to host shed meets.

I also would like to say that I appreciate the participation of our overseas members, only one or two of whom seem to post only due to insomnia

I echo those sentiments and hope that it grows throughout the following year.

Have a Safe Merry Christmas and New Year and if traveling remember that courtesy to fellow road users costs nothing.

And from someone who found out the hard way, don't believe those rules about how to keep under .05 blood alcohol (if in Vic). They're not reliable.

Enjoy your Xmas drinks and then get a taxi home.

If you're at home, get a taxi to your lover's.

If you don't have a lover, have another single malt.

I could go on ;-}

Well said Ern, merry Xmas and a safe and happy New Year to all. I would also like to add that if any of our overseas contributors are planning a holiday in the Great_Southern_Land they'd be welcome with open arms, we maybe even throw on a barbie :D.

As a (fairly) newcomer to wood turning I would also like to endorse Ern's remarks.
The tips and help I have picked up through this and the other woodworking forums have been great. Often some one has already solved the problem and people here are friendly, helpful and willing to share their expertise.
Thank you all!

But overseas members should note that his backyard video is a bit misleading. It's not him singing.

Another year has almost passed, the group of participants continues to grow, the knowledge base grows broader, the humour comes thick and fast - I wonder what the poor people are doing?

Many thanks to Neil for providing this forum and to you all for your company and help.

Best wishes for the coming season however you choose to celebrate it and may you all have a prosperous, healthy and productive New Year.

Regards,
Bob

... and Season's Greetings to you too Ern, and everyone else who has contributed so much to the success of the forum during the year.

To those that can never get enough time to turn during the year, I wish you much shed time over the summer/winter break.

For those that are ready for a break from turning, I wish you a relaxing time doing other things for a change.

Please all have a great break over the Xmas/ New Year.

Thanks to all my forum mates / friends. :2tsup::2tsup::2tsup: You all have been so kind.

Too many names to mention, but you know who I'm talking about. Far and wide. Qld, outback NSW and OS. Not to mention Victoria (where we are truly active). :D

All the best, be safe and make sure you are here this time next year.

Apologies from me too TL. I too ask many silly questions. :?

The VM 120 chuck just went running on the floor after turn=off. It was a nice little spin top too..... Dunno what happened. Never happened before.

No damage done. Ego is low anyway.

Thanks to you all for your open friendship, advice, support and good advice. And from afar too - that's you Ed and Ad.

But you lot are costing me...... I am now addicted.

Please all stay safe and healthy. Best wishes from Annie and I here at Kiewa.

And enjoy your habit / addiction. I know I am.
