Hi Guys,

I've been a long time lurker in this extremely helpful forum, and i must say don't think i have com across a more friendlier and helpful forum on the Internet.

I am thinking about removing the carpets in my house in Chadstone Victoria and getting someone in to polish the floorboards but i have a few questions about the process.

What is an average cost per square metre?

How long would a ~80 meter home take to complete?

Would it be best to remove all carpet and furniture from the house before beginning the job?

i am thinking of getting this done over the next few weeks and was wondering if any one has any recommendations for decent floor polishing professionals that would be available in my area?

I thank you for your time

Jamer

G'day Jamer,
You might get more answers on the renovation forum (ours also) at Renovate Forums (http://www.renovateforum.com)
The place is full of tradies offering advice and DIY people doing exactly what you are.
The downside is that you'll have to go through the registration process again........but then you get to talk to ME!!

Re:
recommendations for decent floor polishing professionalsI used Borthwick Floors (http://www.borthwickfloors.com.au/contact-us.php) a few years ago and was very happy with their work. I've tried three different sanding outfits and these guys are the only ones I would bother with in the future. The cheapest clowns I tried did an ordinary job but never bothered to finish, the average price bloke did an OK job while BF did a premium job, albeit at a premium price. It's been too long now for me to remember what that was, but they were worth what ever the extra was.

->Insert usual "I have no connection to these people" disclaimer here...

Cheers,
Mick

Borthwicks did a new restauraunt floor for me recently and have no problem in recommending them. Nothing was a problem for them, excellent finish, just got on with the job and made it happen. The also do the floors in DJs in the city.
