Had read the sales guff so thought I'd give one a go. Eyesight's not so good any more so clear markings and slots should be ideal.

With some imperial measurement work back on the agenda I got a 250mm Imperial/metric scale rule and damn me if the imperial fractions aren't in 10ths :doh:

Oh well, can go back to the old style steel rule.

But I like the idea so I then got the metric centring rule and a metric 150mm T-rule.

Oh wow, the T-rule's a gem. Markings down to 1/4 of a mm, and it works so nicely as a marking gauge. Will double as a height setter on the router table. Scales are so easy to read. Ideal for an old phart.

The centring rule includes a protractor with slots, so in time I'll make up some std gauges to measure bevel angles on the turning tools and others.

OK, rave over :-

I'll second that. I have the centering rule, t-rule and a couple others and could not agree more.

With a 1/2mm propelling pencil, I doubt I could sharpen the lead ;-}

How do folk store their rules? Only the centring job has a hole to hang it up.
