View Full Version : Santa got me the mini lathe ( one for ray and pat)

Ok all I was a good lttle monster this year:B
so I got a mini lathe for xmass off mum and dad

last minute thing
as they were going to get me a bandsaw but I got one off here
that i get in the new year:U

I got a set of turning tools as well:2tsup:
I get a chuck at end of jan(birthday)

If any one has woood they want to give a home to im happy to help
wood for wine anyone or beer ??

I know its a mini tathe and some may say its better to get a big one but I dont want to get lost with turning and forget about my carving

Well done Dave even has wood/chips/dust on it but tools don't :U well set up.
I'll donate some wood, will pine do :q.
Ok you get yourself into Blue Mountains turners when they get back. Some great fellows there will help.

Dave just noticed in 2nd photo there is something being dragged under tailstock on the farside way remove and clean under the tailstock.

I have no problem telling where MiL is.............she is at home at her place :q

That lathe was probably made in Brasil. Evry second thing here is white and blue -that blue.:U:U

Now you just need some decent chisels to go with the chinese set.One Bowl gouge one Skew a Parting tool made from a large Hacksaw blade a Spindle Gouge and a couple of McJing blanks for Scrapers. Sky`s the limit.
