I am looking to buy a dust extractor/collector for my workshop. Will want to connect to my saw bench and router. What's the go and what do I stay away from.
Cheers <*)(((((><

I still love my Jet DC1100CK. 2hp 1100cfm and a cartridge filter. Not the cheapest on the market, but does the job very nicely.

Whatever you go for, try to get a cartridge filter - they filter a whole lot finer and are much easier to clean. The standard bags just pump ultra-fine dust back into the workshop. 1hp is a little small if you set up fixed ducting in particular. 2hp is a better choice.

You should have a look at Bill Pentz' (http://billpentz.com/woodworking/cyclone/index.cfm)site. The font of all knowledge in regard to home dust collection. Also, checkout our own Wayne Davey's (http://members.optusnet.com.au/waynedavy/) site. If you want to have hours of fun, do a search for cyclones.
