Lathe turned clocks [Archive]

Anyone out there have any lathed turned clock photos they would like to share with us??? Looking to do a few myself in the coming month. They could be mantle or wall style. Thanks.

TTIT did a 'ripple in time (http://www.ttit.id.au/projects/2ndClock/2ndClock.htm)' clock that looked great.

I too would be interested to see some as I'd like to make a couple as well.

JT, there is a forum called "CLOCKS", and that is where it was moved to, though it does seem that a turning question could have stayed in the turning forum.

Now that is a nice looking clock. Abit of work to it but well worth it. Excellent job and I bet it was a big hit. Thanks for showing. There actually are some great turning tricks in the tutorial. I will remember these and don't be surprised if I borrow a few ideas. Thanks.

Excellent work Dave. Like evrything about it.Thinking outside the box is what it is all about. I did pick up a little trick that I am going to try and that is your very simple but clever drill holder for doing the drilling of the numbers. I have been trying to come up with something. Now my clocks will not be wall hangers or at least I don't think so because I only have a 1220 Jet midi. So I will at first gear toward some mantle clocks. Have not turned a clock yet. All my clocks have been flat work with a scrollsaw and sorts.

Just re-read this post. The clock wasn't my work - all TTIT's. I was just impressed by it and when I saw this thread remembered it. Would love to replicate it one day!

Gil we are in overlap territory here. For my money it's turned and has a place in wood turning, but equally it's a clock. Perhaps it should go in both.
