Well I got my saw home, very helpful mob at Carba-tec, I didnt get the name of the guy who helped me but was very helpful right up to helping me load it into the car.

I know its a 20" saw but the thing is huge compared to the old GMC and sure is heavy with the cast iron base and table. I spent the Saturday arvo assembling the stand and reading the instruction manual (i know a real man wouldnt have to read it :p ) I was busy Sunday with dads day stuff so didnt get a chance to 'prepare' the saw, so will head to Bunnies after work and get some kero to clean the table as it has some protectant on it, then need to rub some paste wax on the table and buff it off so hopefully bunnies sells that too. Then I will give it a spin :D

Thanks Pete, I did end up getting the Shellite, works quite well too.

Well I have been using the saw for a while now and i am quite pleased with it. Very quiet and still compared to the old GMC. Getting used to having the belt to adjust the speed rather than tweeking it as you work, but I know how fast each setting goes now so just set it to the right speed before I begin the job. I dont think I will be taking this saw to many scrollsaw meetings as its just too heavy to go carting around everywhere, can you buy mini forklifts? :D ) Only thing I would have a little whinge at is the blower, the slower the speed, the less air that come out of it. Still produces enough to blow the dust away, just need to move the end of the blower a bit closer on the 700 speed.

Does anyone need a boat anchor? nah seriously, the GMC was a good saw for getting into scrolling but it was time to update..

Mate use the gmc as a carry around for demos ....shows ppl u dont need a expensive saw to start with and will remind u as to why u bought a delta :D
