Setting the Moon Dial

I have a Grandfather clock with a moon dial. I've always set the moon dial to coincide with the Full Moon as it seemed logical. But I've always wondered if it is correct.
So my question - should the moon dial be set to the Full Moon or the New Moon?

You set the moon dial to whatever the moon setting is in. It should coinside with whatever the phase the moon is in.
