Sorry team... had forgotten to give a review:-.

The show was nothing short of amazing. Normally when you go to a show the support acts have their amps turned down a little so the big act seem even bigger. Calling All Cars was the second support act and when they struck the first guitar chord the place exploded in sound. Wolfmother came up next and tore the place down. When AC/DC took the stage the whole place lost their minds... the whole show is pretty much Angus though. The guitar solo, whilst amazing was probably about 10 minutes too long. The bit out the front of the stage was awesome, the back of the stage was awesome but there was a bit in the middle where it just seemed a little bit self indulgent. That said I would be happy to pay and see them again. Suspect this will be the last time they tour so glad I'm able to say I saw them at least once live:2tsup:

Sorry about the photo's but we were a long way back in the stadium.

There was a whole lot of her:wink:... one thing that I thought was pretty funny actually was when they played "The Jack". They were showing girls in the crowd on the big screen and there was a fair bit of upper body flashing going on. Have to wonder if the girls knew what "The Jack" is all about:rolleyes:

She didnt disapoint.:D
I went to the first show in Brisbane, awesome !!

Angus was the standout for me, though I agree the solo was a tad long.

Missed the first band, "Calling all Cars" because when we got to the bus stop on Adelaide street, the lineup was about 200 meters long, so we walked back to our Hotel and hailed a cab. Ended up walking into the stadium just as WolfMother hit the stage. Lots of people were still coming in when ACDC came on.

I was a fair way back from the stage, I kept finding myself looking at the big screens. First time I've been to a concert where I was so far from the stage, was still great though, would go again if I had the chance.

Tell me about it! So many great licks. I live by a line in that song. "that's alright, I've still got my guitar" lol... As long as I have my guitar, I'm good to go!

I'd give my right arm to play like Jimi, my mid life crisis was to buy a cheap Ibanez guitar & amp. Sold it a year later to finance a trip to Memphis. Couldn't play a note to save my life, got to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd play at the Beale Street Festival though.

At the moment i love this. Apart from one of the best vinyl albums ever produced (name a high end audiophile mag that disagrees) some bloke has put a cracker of a vid to go with it. The beter your gear the better it sounds.

I have to agree that Jennifer Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat is one of the best as Lignum says. I've listened to it for years. It was produced by Rosco Beck who was the musical director and bass player on Leonard Cohens recent tours, his show at Rod laver 2 years ago rates right up there with the best shows I've ever seen.
But what do I listen to???
top 5
nick cave
johnny cash
hank williams
any combination of - the triffids - died pretty - go betweens and many other great aussie acts
ed kuepper - anything by ed from the saints to the laughing clowns to his solo work. one of the great undervalued talents in this country. I waited 25 years to see the laughing clowns play. Saw them in melbourne on the last night of the 2010 jazz festival and went to sydney to see them at the basement the next day. Suffice to say it was worth every second of waiting 25years to see them.

Then i listen to many things from as noisy as i can find e.g grinderman, stiff little fingers, ministry,
to stuff like sacred music, the choir of the cathedral of notre dame de paris, go and see 'em if in paris - magnificent, and the organ!!! no wonder those churches were built so big. Also highly reccomended in this style is a spanish guy called Jordi Savall who specialises in ancient music, anything he does is worth listening to.
Good country music - Hank (the greatest), Lucinda Williams, The smithsonian institutes Anthology of American Folk music etc etc
lots and lots of stuff
Anyone heard of Throbbing Gristle? surprisingly relaxing

Did i mention I also like really really noisy music as well!!!!
What do they say - so much music so little time

One other thing - and I wonder if you other guys are the same - I find I am much more productive when I'm listening to music

I could really go on and on and on I've really only scratched the surface of my musical likes

Dislikes ( and nothing against 'em, just dont like 'em)
modern jazz
bollywood
chinese classical music

I've said enough for now

I'm a classic rock fan from way back but in the last few months I've been getting into a new Indie folk artist by the name of Ben Howard, absolutely phenomenal. Beautiful lyrics and gob smacking guitar skills.
Check him out on Youtube, I'd recommend "further away" "Gracious" "Bones" "Everything" and "Black Flies"
