Hi,

I'm thinking about investing in some Transfer screws and Transfer Punches as they look like they would be handy to have around.

Is there anyone around who makes a good set.

Also with the transfer screws, I normally work with both imperial and metric so probably a good idea to get both? Fine and course? Would be good if there is a complete set.

Thanks

I've bought transfer punches from McJING Tools Online (http://www.mcjing.com.au) and they had both metric & Imperial

Thanks for the links :)

Those transfer punches look alright to me so will be purchasing them shortly.

As for the screws, if I had a lathe i'd give it a go, but am yet to find one (still looking)
Though if there was a set available to buy i'd probably go that way as it seems like it would be time consuming, though for one off jobs it's probably ok.

Now that I think about it.....I reckon the punches are of more use. Sure they don't run though the thread, but they come in such fractional sizes. Dunno??

Noel, the punches wil work for through hoes but not for blind holes where the screws come in to their own.

LMS sell sets of the transfer screws

LittleMachineShop.com - Search (http://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_search.php?critFast=transfer+screws&B1=Product+Search)

McJing have the punches, as have LMS and manu others

Ah Haa!
Thanks Fred.
As I use them mainly for woodwork..........punches seem to get me by.
Of course I will have to buy a set of screws...(just in case)
