I came across this:
KAKURI Made in Japan Select 100 (http://www.kakuri.co.jp/e-catlog/kakuri-e/index.html)
Be patient, its a little slow to load. I find using the arrows at the bottom works best to change the pages.

I don't know if one can order directly from the company (probably not - would have to go through a retailer I suspect). But interesting to see the range of tools available.

Becky, you are probably not in the market anymore, but check out page 26.

Wow, Steve, seems like an incredibly comprehensive catalogue. Would love to be able to order from them... haven't explored the possibilities, as I'm short on time this morning, but will definitely look into it.

Thanks so much for the link! :2tsup:

My best kitchen knives come from blacksmiths in Sanjo, Niigata. Maybe they are not all hand smithed, but no doubt the items in the catalogue will be made to a standard upheld by the area and its history.

Thanks for the link, Steve.

I was talking with Stu (proprietor extraordinaire of Tools from Japan, Japanese woodworking tools direct from Japan. (http://toolsfromjapan.com/store/)) via email. He mentioned that he can get just about anything in the Kakuri catalog (even though he only lists a few of their items in his store). He may be able to get a similar (or better sometimes) quality tool at a better price, so its best to contact him with what you are looking for.

Happy Shopping,
Steve
