I have a Sherwood router lathe which looks to have possibilities of turning something different....flutes,barley twists etc. Am wondering as to what router bit profiles and the like for this. Any info would be appreciated......Regards.......AL

Keith Rowley"s book, Woodturning... A Foundation Course, has a short section on router enhancements, but it's mostly spindle work. It has a good picture of a carriage for a router. I am looking for pictures of carriages for the router, as well as the sled. I made one years ago for a jet 14-42, (I have since upgraded to a larger lathe). It worked quite well, although it was dedicated to spindle type work. I want to build one that will allow me to turn it 90 degrees and work faceplate style as well. I believe I know what I want, but would like to see some pics of others' jigs, in that I may incorporate your ideas into my new jig. Any pictures, or links would be greatly appreciated.

get on the internet & go to Legacy Ornamental Mills. They have tutorials there on using their mill. They have projects and tell you what bits they used. You can get the bits through a specialty bit supplier that does them for Legacy. I can't get to the name of that co. until the household gets up. You should be able to get the name from Legacy. Good luck
