I have not posted here for some time as I have been busy on the dark side:D
This bowl was made from local Iron wood it is 155mm wide and 56mm high.
It was sanded to 400grt and then EEE and Shallawax as a finish.
I have started making a small collection of small bowls of different types of timbers. I will post some more later.
I hope you mob like it:)

Great bowl from beautiful wood, good show RP.

Ironwood is by far my favourite wood, i love working with the stuff. i think i need to move back up north so i've got access to bigger pieces than just pen blanks.

If you ever come up this way I will load your car up I have access to approx 500 acres of Iron wood trees. I would be happy to post some to you but the freight would be a killer due to the weight.

No the one we get is the same as Cooktown Iron wood Erythrophleum chlorostachys

the iron bark i have makes me snezz heeps when sanding
the iron wood i have is almost black , from the old slauter yards ( built from the ww2 darwin warlf remnets )
