Does anybody know of a good website where I can look at Jet table saws and compare Australian prices?
I am also looking for dealers located in Brisbane so I can physically compare some models. I allready know of Carbatec but am looking for someone who carries Jet gear as well as any other table saws which are worth a look.

Gary Pye Woodturning (http://store.yahoo.com/gpwoodturning/index.html)

At Currumbin, an outer suburb of Brisvegas I believe..... and knowing your intense interest in turning Jack, you may find something else that you can't afford to do without! :D :D :D

Cheers,

P (old enough to know better!)

Isn't it about time you posted a pic of the miniature table you should have assembled by now, Jack?

Thanks for the helpful replies guys.

Bitingmidge, I think I have told you that I am waiting until I am about your age to try turning, it will give me something to look forward to later on in life.

Ozwinner, thanks for the link but I have heard bad things about buying a new Boeing, I think I will wait until jet Star goes bust and pick up a cheap second hand one.

Rocker, I am still working on the table (and you thought the rest of the guys on the forum could procrastinate), I have been away with work more often than not lately and have hardly touched the tools.
I need to make one of your famous jigs before I can finish the table as we didn't complete all the mortices. Maybe the unfinished ones were when you gave Bob a go or we were just to keen for lunch and the wine!!!

It's been a couple of months Jack, I thought SURELY you'd be my age by now!

You must be getting close to moving as well?

Cheers.

My what a good memory you have, except for ages that is!

My lovely partner has about 2 weeks until her final exams and we are moving to Townsville mid January for her internship at Townsville General Hospital.
I have exactly 120 days until I leave the Army and what a happy day that will be.
I haven't lined up a job in T'ville yet but I wouldn't mind just kicking back for a few months anyway. Might even get that table finished!

I am also looking at purchaing a Jet table saw in the near future.

I have noticed that Gregory's Machinary has the
JET 10" Contractor Style Table Saw JWTS-10LFR for $1,150.00

Gary Pye has the
JET 10" Contractors Saw JWTS-10CW2 for $1,039.00

I notice 2 different model numbers here and a larger 2hp motor on the Gary Pye saw.
Also, Gregorys tell me their Jet contractors saw is now $1050.00
When I have more time I will get more details

Looking at their website it would appear that Major Woodworking Eqpt in Sydney is not interested in the cheaper saws. Their starting poin seems to be the supersaw for $2000

Jack,

You have produced some very lame excuses for your procrastination :) I think about half an hour's work with a chisel is all that is required to finish that table - no need to build jigs. I can only assume that that lovely partner of yours is distorting your priorities ;)
