First ever woodturned item with the added difficulty of doing it on my minilathe (metal) so things constantly keep getting in the way.
I found roughing down a square bit of wood quite easy, but when it came to getting tighter on the tapers I was finding it quite tricky. I think it probably had something to do with the fact that my tool rest is currently on centre and that I don't have a spindle gouge and had to use the roughing gauge...that's my excuse anyway.
Handle is rock maple and the base is black Delrin (Acetal).
Finish is CA. Really quick and easy, i love it.
For the record, I don't like the shape. I think the whole thing is too kind of chunky. I just made it as I went, so next time I will design it on SU before going ahead with making another from Stainless steel and redgum.
