How to make a Bass guitar case

Hi and hello may first time here i was wondering about making a bass guitar case than buying it and it might be a good idea for my technology class the bass guitar case im think of is just a simple rectanglular shaped.
So what type of wood should i use i was thinking of 3ply wood but putting 2 of that on each other or whatever is better.
what should i do for the interior like what should i put in there
what type of finish should i do paint it or varnish it or somthing.

litterally im asking how to do it and what materials can i use
