Hi,

I decided to try something a little different, and smaller than usual.

Here is my first attempt at a set of earrings. They are made up from the left overs of an acrylic pen blank. Over the weekend, my wife started on the matching pen.

My daughter loves them and has already laid claim to them, and showed her friends at school.

Little bit challenging due to the size, and also it was my first attempt at offset turning, which on my small midi lathe was a shaking shuddering experience.

Thought you might like to see the style of earrings that some turners were doing in the 80's / 90's.

This one I made as a single disc (rosewood), chatterwork applied, then chopped up on the bandsaw to make 2 earrings...of the hundreds made, the LOML has only this set left...they do sell quickly.

Feedback received.... (the book she mentioned is Woodturning Jewellery by Hilary Bowen.)

I'm thinking that type & the basics in the book are a bit dated.
At the moment my ideas of combining with stones or beads seems more of the vogue.

So there ya have, mixed media, timber, stones & beads. :2tsup:
