Is it just me, or is this forum stuck in ascending order? It's just that I like to see the latest posts at the top of the first page - less clicking which makes me break out in a sweat and pant lots

Go to Edit Options and reset the thread display. Maybe the forum was updated and removed some user setups.

Have a look now, seems like it was set as ascending rather than descending, so have changed setting to match the rest of the forum :H
