What :aro-u: he said.
You have put many worthwhile hours into that effort.
Marvellous, great detail and the contrasts with the different woods makes the whole rig look outstanding.
Thanks for posting your work.

Great job Mr T..It will be hard to improve on such a fine example.
Can you do a work in progress on your next model?
I am sure it would be a big hit on the forum.
What are you going to use for a finish?
First Attempt at Toymaking ?? Seeing you claim to be a beginner:U I will let you know what I do.I put the finish on each sub assembly as I go.It makes life easier as it is near impossable to put a good finish on an assembled model JMHO:2tsup:

Thanks for the encouraging comments.

Yes it is my first attempt at Toymaking.
I have been making boxes ( jewelry etc ) over the last
3 years and had a lot of small off cuts, so to use them up I thought I
would try Toymaking.
The prime mover is a plan from a book called Heirloom Cars and Trucks In Wood,
and the lowloading trailer and excavator are plans from Toy's and Joy's in America.
The light coloured timber is clear grade pine and the dark timber is Jarrah.
The finish is lacquer ( Mirotone ) sprayed using a good quality air brush and I only
had to take the tracks and boom off the excavator and spray them seperately.and
I left glueing the wheels on the truck and trailer until after they were sprayed.
Next is a dozer and I will try and post WIP photos for those that may be interested.

Yes Billy it was so boring.I made three excavators at the same time for each of the
grand kids which equates to 200 track pieces.

I won't be doing that again.

Do not, I repeat, do not let any grubby little hands on this project. This one goes straight to the pool room. Excellent effort. BTW, how many hours are we talking here?

dills.

Built two prime movers, two trailers and three excavators at the
same time which took about 10 weeks.
I thought by doing that I could reduce the time but I was
completely wrong .

Thanks again for the encouraging comments.
