Phooey. My S1000, now Peter's, could take 1100mm diameter, speed range 0-c.3000, work both sides of a bowl given the aux bed and 2nd banjo etc etc. ;-}

Actually the min speed wouldn't bother me if the frame were solid and bolted down.

And 2 real HP with VM electronics would be a plus.

I can't quite make sense out of the free stand .... tailstock mount or tool rest?

I wonder how long a 100 kg out of balance stump would stay on the the spindle.

South Bend 10L face plates with a 2 1/4 inch X 8 tpi are common as dirt on this side of the pond.

1 1/2 X 8 and 33mm X 3.5 mm thread pitch are fairly common.
