John spent the whole weekend with a smile on his face. He does beautiful work and shares everything he knows without hesitation. It was a top weekend of turning in a the most picturesque location. Great food and great people. It doesn't get any better than that.

We weren't the only ones. I guess everyone had a different "spin" on things that they were happy to share in one way or another.

By the way love your work Neil. I like the way you find the little orphans on the woodpile and nurture them into something really creative, practical and aesthetically pleasing.

You can see possibilities were other see nothing. That's twisted but a special talent.

Cheers

Theo.

John the two I like best are the Circuit board-:2tsup: where do you get that style? and the Italian "plastic", :2tsup:where did you get that?, I do like your work, it is that those two jumped out at me this time round. PS, did you go with blanks prepared?
Theo-agree with you about Neil--"twisted":D, have to be to make such things from bits we throw away!!! Amos:)

Amos, yes the blanks were prepared prior to the weekend :) just pure turning pleasure for the weekend hehe. The cigar circuit board kits are from "ernie at Bear tooth (http://www.beartoothwoods.com/catalog/) " you have to get the cigar kits separate from the blanks ,no big deal :). The plastic blanks were sent from the states as samples ,really nice ,but the only one that was labelled was the one I used :( .It is low melting point very similar to invisivue to work with but far superior in color and patterns, rather like the old fashioned fountain pens from the brand name makers of yesteryear :). I can try and find out where to get them but I believe they are a bit hard to get hold of .Cheers ~ John

PS. the plastic product is called "Celoplast" I did a google search but not much luck, and I can'y read Italian :(

Theo - I have another thread here (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/q-turn-lake-summerset-qld-118492/#post1163720) for photos of the event, I know your wife took quite a few, I was hoping for a shot of all the turnings.

Wonderful collection of pens there John!!:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

One of these days I will make it to such an event. That is when overseas trips, lack of brass and things such as house building don't get in the way!:(:(
