Hi all

I recently purchased one of the travel mug (http://www.cws.au.com/shop/item/travelling-mug-lid) kits from Carrols and will be having a bash at it in the next few days. Just wondering if any of you have done this or one similar and have any tips on what to watch out for.

cheers

No, bought one, but haven't got around to turning so far.

Maybe next week with luck

Hi WH,

My first attempt at making one failed right towards the end and I learnt a valuable lesson, get some calipers and check the thickness of the timber often, you don't want to go too thin and have the whole thing seperate on you, at about 2,000 RPM......Still to make a second attempt.

Here's a site I found when I bought my kit. Still haven't got around to actually having a go though!

I like the idea of those cone centres in the "Turned.Out.Right" link
any ideas where one can get one?
or even how to make my own?

I followed the same train of thought, and contacted Carrols, who advise that they can get these "cones".
