Since I sold my original business 25 or so years ago I regretted selling my metal lathe, mill and Mig welder, however I rectified the lathe and mill part about a month ago with the purchase of a small metal lathe with mill attached.

As some of you know I obtained a bowl lathe a while ago. http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/my-wife-wouldnt-113225/

It has been christened the VB72 after the price and a suggestion by Rodent.

It has finally been wired in and an adapter made to enable my chucks to be fitted.

We have also made new covers to hide the gearbox and stop little fingys getting caught.

As with all second hand machines some things irk you and have to be fixed.

The tool rests that came with it were pattern makers rests that are unsuitable for bowl or platter work and the locks on the remote banjo were a little agricultural to say the least. Did the job, just not my style.:D

With my new metal lathe I started to fix these things up.

I made up new lock bolts for the banjo and fabricated some new rests here

Always makes it nicer to use when you start to tidy up all the little bits and peices.
