Here's one I finished today. Crosscut Macadamia on a Gold Titanium EB. CA finish.

Is the blank dyed? Most of the mac I have seen is a light colour.

No dyes, the darker bands between the medullary rays could have a bit of spalting happening, causing the blank to look a bit darker than you would expect.
Just applied the CA finish, about 10 coats of thin, sanded 400&600 w&d, then through the MM range, then Hut plastic polish, then a coat of carnauba wax.
