Another blank from Jeff Powell, what a great blank to turn. Thanks Jeff can't wait to turn the next one.

Finish is polished to 12kmm then micro gloss, PlastX and then Nanowax. Kit is a Junior Marshal from a good friend. Many thanks my friend.:2tsup:

As requested picture of the blank before turning

Wow Sam :cool2: Very Cool!!

When I saw the subject I thought it was going to be one of the laser cut timber flame kits, which I love. But this is simply stunning! The swirls make the flame look almost real.

Great choice on the pen kit too, suits it perfectly.

Geez, to get my hands on one of those blanks! A fantastic casting job by Jeff too. :2tsup: to both of you.

Nathan.

Very nice Sam!
Fit and finish look great as usual.

Did you have to fill the pin hole with CA once you got the blank turned down or was the pin hole shallow?

The shed has now been passed by the certifier so hopefully I will be able to get some lining this weekend. Big clean up yesterday dusty is now operational but will have to make a collector for the old band saw.

Les the pin hole turned out so no filling.

The biggest part in turning these blanks is to get the centre of the image on two faces not just the centre of the blank so to say.

With the next one I am going to drop the image to allow more smoke to be seen just to see what that looks like.

The blank was really good to turn lots of long ribbons.

Saw this pen today

Looks a lot better in the flesh then in the photo :2tsup:

and the blanks look extremely interesting
as does the another from the same chap which I'm sure will be posted soon

Sam was discussing some deal for shed lining so I expect it will happen shortly
