I have a beautiful heirloom bowl my neighbor has asked me to fix. It has a large chip on the side. She has all of the pieces. Can anyone recommend me a glue? I'm guessing it should be an epoxy of some sort.

I asked at my local hardware store but was not encouraged by the salesman talking to my boobs and telling me that superglue would do it ok. grrr.

Techgirl,

According to the blurb "
Selleys Araldite Ultra Clear is a strong and durable, fast setting two-part adhesive that dries crystal clear which makes it ideal for repairs where an invisible bond is required, such as glassware. "

So I reckon it might be what you're looking for

Try 'This to That' (http://www.thistothat.com/cgi-bin/glue.cgi?lang=en&this=Glass&that=Glass) website.

I can't add anything sensible to those answers, so I'll just stare at yer boobs too.

(actually super glue...or more properly a glass bonding cyanoacrylate adhesive...is a good solution as it can be debonded by soaking in acetone; there's also the stuff used to repair cracks in windscreens, which is designed to match the refractive index of glass and might be good for filling missing bits, or there's the stuff used to stick rear view mirrors back on to windscreens)
