Anyone on the forum that can do themselves or recommend a repairer/servicer for vintage fountain pens?

I have a bunch that need work: mostly vintage Parkers, but one Mont Blanc.

Suggest you check in at the International Association of Penturners.

They have a lot of fountain pen fanciers there, including those who obsesse over old ones. I'm sure you can get help there.

There is repairer associated with "The Pen Shoppe" in Brisbane. I have bought part from them in the past. There is also somebody in Melbourne (Melbourne Vintage pens?). A lot of people send off to Richard Binder in the US. Depending on the repair, not all repairs are hard either. I have done a few with help from internet sites or other people. Frank Dubiel's book (which I don't own) has been highly recommended as a repair manual. Probably best to practise on cheap non-sentimental pens first though.

I've found it's cheaper to get parts from ebay or shops o/s. Last time I ordered a new nib for one of mine from a prominent chain of pen shops after an unfortunate dropping incident, I found I could have bought a whole new pen shipped from Europe.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Sam

I have been looking around and Peter Ford's name keeps coming up. I will send the pens to him. I will also take a couple of pics this weekend and post them for interest.

Thanks all ... and if you have any other ideas, then add them here. It's not too late to change destination.
