Hi all

Had my first go at a lidded box today. It is the MIL's birthday tomorrow and I wanted to make her something. Reasonably pleased with the result other than I didn't allow for sanding when I turned the lid so the diameter of the lid is slightly under that of the body and the fit isn't as tight as I had intended. That said the MIL was very pleased with it. Dimensions are approx 60mm diameter and 80mm tall. The timber is Jacaranda sanded to 600, EEE and shellawax.

Comments and criticism always welcome

Cheers
WH

Looks good to me too. :2tsup:

Don't worry about the lid being a comfortable fit .
Some folks do them too tight and then when the wood moves , as it always does , the bugga jams on as if it were glued.

AS Jock said, snap-fit lids aren't the be-all and end-all, in fact, about the only people impressed by them are other woodturners  Do a few to show that you can and then make the rest a loose fit so people will actually buy and/or use them.
Nice job on the 1st try :2tsup:
