View Full Version : Triton upgrade advice

I have a Triton Mk 3 (bought second hand a couple of years ago), and have found it to be very useful. It's missing the cross-cut fence, but I've made my own which is not quite as accurate as I'd like.
My question is, should I upgrade to 2000? What are the differences between the two models. Apologies if the answer is already here.
Also, does anyone have a good design for a stop on a Triton cross-cut fence?
Thanks in advance, Carl

Do a search, in this section, for cross cut sled. These are really easy to make, and are worth their weight in gold.

This is a good one - Bob Jager's Triton Cross Cut Sled (http://sites.google.com/site/bobjager/woodwork).

mayday,
My advice is keep the Mk 3 and buy a dropsaw. Very accurate and saves taking the thing apart when you need to do little jobs.

I second the drop saw option.
I have a drop saw and find it very useful for accurate cutting, mitre cutting and bevel cutting, although it is not as easy cutting bevels as a table saw would be.
Never have used my Triton 2000 for cross cutting.
It would be a pain inthe a*** changing it back and forth.
Have fun, Keith.:2tsup:

I use a 12in makita for very accurate mitres on boxes. Some boxes less than 15mm thick. (Some with a spline thrown in- but don't try that first up.)
