I have not done any woodturning but have wanted to buy a lathe so that I can make some shavings . Does any one have any knowledge of this model and would This (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280547818810&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) ebay listing be a good buy.

Peter, Artme and myself both have one of these lathes. I paid $300 for mine a few years ago (didn't come with any extra's). Its a good starter lathe if you can get it at the right price, I'm thinking that $800 isn't the right price though. You could get a brand new MC900 or MC1100 for less than the price of this lathe and buy the accessories with the $$$ saved or factor them into a deal with the seller.
