Dyed Woods

some may remember the dyed spalted maple streamline that i posted a couple of months ago, well here is the running mates

streamline - magenta dyed spalted hard maple

Cigar - cyan dyed cross cut spalted hard maple

bot of these pens were made using ink from printer cartridges mixed with metho (DNA for our US friends) the printer no longer works and i thought i should get some use out of the inks

i used my vacuum pump to suck the the air out of the blanks which forced the dye into the wood pretty well
