Hi there,
Thinking of making some casts with colour resin. The only thing i need to know is haw to colour the resin do you just ad some pearlex or do you have to do a colour with it.

Howdy doody Bupton

i use pearlex to color the resins when i do casting

just mix the pearlex in using a icey pole stick and bobs your uncle, the pearlex creates its own swirls, and ust the icey pole stick to judge the depth of color, you don't want to be able to see the tubes after you have turned the material down unless you are painting the tubes

good luck

Thank you MIK that clears that. Have you got any places where you get pearlex.

As MIK says, but if you only want a few Pearlex powders to try, the cheapest in Aus is here (http://www.amcsupplies.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=18_734_735&sort=3a&page=1)

I also have a local supplier that sells neutral pearlex powder (although slow painful ordering process :-) that gives the swirling patterns when combined with dyes, so gives me even more colour alternatives.

Don't forget, if you want to try worthless wood, good quality effectively free off-cuts here (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f222/burl-offcuts-worthless-wood-121985/)
