Hi Paul, really an impressive work, that we work the wood we have the immense fortune of shaping the most noble material of the nature, do not believe it?:2tsup:

That is the simplest and easiest to make design I have seen. Wish I had have had accss to that when I was in Brasil!

looks as good as any "shop bought" that I have seen, a lot of pride in there!

Hi Paul39,
Yes as the others have said, very nice.
I would change a couple of things, though.
1/2 HP. I would have thought is not quite big enough. 1 - 1 1/2 - 2 HP would be better.
Most of our Motors are 1425 RPM. & not 1725.
I would be inclined to make the Hand Wheels a little smaller.
I dead against the Tool Holder being over the back of the Lathe, as most of us I'm sure, don't stop our Lathes to reach for a Tool, & If you happen to have any loose Clothing, then there is danger in that.
You will also need a couple of Shorter Tool Rests.
It is a Great Lathe & would be nice to have a bit of a turn on it.
There was a Chap in Warragul, Vic. made 1 from a Sheet of 8 x 4 ft. Form Ply.
Regards,
issatree.
