Hi people, I am a total newbie this bandsaw business. I bought a Ryobi HBS230-L because I all my other kit is Ryobi. I have been building ship models from kits but now want to start basic scratch-building with a few small projects. My problem is that I just cannot get the cutting guide (the long rectangular aluminium piece that clips over the table) to sit at exactly 90deg - I need it to do that because of, amongst other tasks, the thin strips of planking that I want to cut. Any ideas/help out there? Also interesting: the machine was cheaper here than 99% of the websites that I saw (ZAR1300)

Have a look at the thread "Pivot Fence for Resawing" in Bandsaws.
There is a lot of discussion there about different setups to feed timber. Basically looks at using a timber fence kept in place by (I think) G clamps.
is going to post a picture of his setup when he gets home which should be useful.

Hi Don,
Thanks for the leads - found a heap of good stuff that I'm trying out.
