Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice as to who the best company / people may be to have new hardwood gunnels designed and milled for a 28ft sloop. Installation would be on a hard stand in Putney so I would be looking for a company / person in Sydney and surrounds.
Thanks,
Dan

Sounds like you need a boat carpenter in the Sydney area.

Hi Dan,
I suggest you laminate your gunnels (correctly gunwales).
You will find it difficult to get single lengths of timber for your job, unless you know a specialist mill.
Laminating with epoxy resin glue is stronger than a single piece of timber and using shorter thinner lengths you will be able to accomplish the job on your own, or better yet with the help of 1 friend.
It would be worth your while checking out some moden boat building methods from people in your area.
I hope your repair goes well.
Paul.
