A few weeks back the local wood turning club that I have just joined advised they were submitting items from members to the Gold Coast Show for the woodturning competition. It had to be turned within the last 12 months, so I grabbed my recent potpourri and entered it, the one pictured below and discussed (with more pictures) under this thread (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/not-your-average-pot-pourri-119247/). My first competition entry.

Happy to say it won first for advanced turning, and second for the overall show's Reserve Champion (first went to Bill Pennell's hostess trolley featured in this month's Australian Woodworker - well done Bill). I got the certificates, two ribbons (although the blue first has gone missing :() and $50 :2tsup:
Cheers
