virus?

hi to all. i believe i may have a virus in my computor. a program called [security tool] downloaded its program and installed it onto my computor with out any help from me . and pops ups coming constantly saying i have trogons and all sorts of malaware etc also trying to sell the program to me . can i do something to get rid of it or is it a tech job.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you'
