... I also plan to get a scraper blade (or two), much like the sorby tear drop shaped scrapers.

Made it!

Spotted gum handle, copper pipe ferule, 5/8" stainless rod, 1/4" cutting tip, round thing purchased from McJing.

Congratulations... a kindred spirit! :2tsup:

When I made something along those lines the forum gurus suggested putting a kink in the shaft so that the cutter remains in line with the axis, to reduce the lever effect. I complied. :wink:

Thanks F&E ... and I'd really like to add a 'kink' or gooseneck but haven't the means to do it (neither heating torch or the 20ton press) :~

20 ton? I have been pumping iron to keep fit but I would have never imagined I had become that strong! :D

make it a lot easier. Didn't even use a torch, but that depends on the steel.
