G'day
I find bangles are good sellers but sometimes the blanks I have available are pretty plane so I have been playing around to jaz them up .
The spiral ones are done with a Sorby spiralling tool . The coloured band is just a bit of Masonite laminated in . I found the best way to make the round inserts was was to true the blank by jambing between chuck and tail stock . Mark the spaceing with the indexer .Remove from the lathe and bore the recesses on a drillpress while holding in a vice . I found the best way to cut the plugs was with a plug cutter then glue them in . Put it back on the lathe and scim the surface then proceed to make the bangle in the usuall way .
Hope this is of interest .
Ted

Nice going, Ted.

Have you thought about turning a set of rings quite simiilar for holding fancy napkins? You'd need a square box to put them in though. I reckon that would sell too.

Nice work

If you did the threads the other way you'd end up with little diamonds, just an idea
