I took Jim's advice with this one and mounted it between centres. Much easier, thanks for the tip Jim :2tsup:. Also flooded the bark with CA before it had a chance to come off. Looking pretty good so far, 280mm dia with a nice even 30mm wall thickness. I hope to get the wall thickness under 12mm when it's dry.

try flooding it with a few coats of n/cellose sanding sealer and thinners , one of the members of my club do that to all there really green bowl ( most nat edged ) and rarely doe he need to glue the bark and it helps stabilise it from moving

Is lathe a W387 (1847) and

What is pipe next to on/off swich in first photo, is it compressed air for clearing shavings

The lathe is a Jet 1642.

The "pipe" is an extendable magnet,for when I drop screws and small chuck jaws into the shavings :doh:.
