Marauder 25th February 2005, 05:35 PM I just bought a Hitachi M12SA, and it came with a height adjuster which looks just like the home made ones on the linked page. Works great in the Leigh Jig
Cheers
jow104 25th February 2005, 06:44 PM Like to hear your opinions on the leigh jig and any limitations.
Hope the water levels have dropped down, when I was in geelong awhile ago I got my feet wet

The fine adjuster mod (in your link) is a good beginning. But it will still be difficult to turn. So go to this linl to see the next step:

jow104 26th February 2005, 01:26 AM looks tome that I should have included Perth on my travels somehow. :(
chris_hewett 27th February 2005, 02:32 AM Although it does cost a bit more than $3, I am using the Router Raizer. It involves modifying the router with a threaded rod inside one of the columns of the router. Once the modification is complete, you can use the router hand held or in the table. The advantage with this system is that after modifying the router table (drilling one extra hole) you can also adjust the router from above the table. When used under a table, to help stop dust from clogging the hex socket for the adjustment, a small steel disc sits in the access hole. A small powerful magnet on the adjust handle holds the disc while adjusting the router (you may see it in the photo). Handle clips onto the side of the table when not in use...
jow104 1st March 2005, 07:26 PM see you have also connected a motor speed controller.!!!
Marauder 2nd March 2005, 05:00 PM Yeah, re: the leigh jig:
So far so good. I have done many test joints so far, and it seems good. Too early to tell. Gonna try the finger joint template next.
Cheers
al2 18th March 2005, 12:47 AM I must be stupid I just dont seem to see how these adjusters work. I have an Ozito half in plunge router. Been using a bar spreader to adjust it when installed in the riton table, but cant use it when I route handheld. do I have to drill the base (warranty?) of the router?
Barry_White 18th March 2005, 11:04 AM If you all had just bought a Triton Router you wouldn't have to do any of this.
Kris.Parker1 18th March 2005, 05:43 PM Here, here...
routermaniac 21st March 2005, 12:06 AM Im with Barry White on this one. As soon as finances allowed I made the change and never looked back (and I own 3 other routers!).
