Can any one give me an idea where to pickup a good quality heavy duty mt1 live centre. Have a carbatec mcl201 live centre at the moment and it is past its use by as I am getting a bit of sideways movement out of it that appears to be the cup fit over the bearing. I don't think it is a suitable design as my lathe, a record as/3 is capable of taking a piece up to approx 4ft long between centres

I have the Sorby Revolving Live Centre (http://www.robert-sorby.co.uk/) set and it is available in MT1, great set and not that much more than a single live centre, it is also quite slim.

Carrolls and The Woodsmith-Croydon carry them, not sure about the MT1 though, but can be ordered.

If you want genuine record power then this mob are even cheaper than record power and the postage isn't bad.

I got the same thing from them myself.

Thanks all will have a look through some of the links provided. MT1 is where I have ran into trouble with the heavy duty as most start from MT2 or retailers stock from MT2 up.
Will post back and let you know how I go.

Picked a three bearing mt1 off ebay. Hopefully it will perform ok. If it doesn't I will look at the more expensive units.
