hey guys, im designing and building an extension dining table for my year 12 hsc.

its going to be made of rose gum top, with a jarrah frame sort of thing around the edge.

hopefully it is an elegant dining table. maybe with a french polish. hopefully come up nice.

im not too sure on what wood to use for the legs and frame. i have had some suggestions to use the jarrah again. but if you have an idea it would be very useful.

does anyone know of any good websites or companies that have extension mechanisms?

i have attached some photos that i found on a site like this of a table i liked.

mine should be about the same as this. i really liked the extension mechanism in this table, as it is simple. any one with ideas on where to purchase these???

and... any ideas on how i should join my legs to the skirting? any websites pictures or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

hey wheelinround, thanks man. yeah not my table. but a good idea i think.

Hey i was wondering how should i join my legs to the 'skirting'?

the skirting has to be about 35mm to allow for the sliding mechanism to fit allong. and the legs are about 70mm squared tappering down somewhat.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
