Hi folks
It's been a while since I got some decent lathe time but now that uni is over (hopefully for ever) and the nursery is just about finished for our impending arrival I managed to sneak in some shed time this evening. Decided to keep it nice and simple to get my hand and eye back in.
So I knocked out this bowl from a piece of silky oak. It's approximately 200mm by 40mm sanded to 600 and finished with EEE and shelawax. Had a few tool marks left on the inside but sorted them out by switching to the 80 grit chisel. It's cheating I know but it was getting late :; Looking at it I'm a bit disappointed in the shape, I should have made the base slightly narrower but it was all good fun so that's the main thing.
cheers
